Job summary

Anglian Water seeks an Environmental Pollution Technician to be among the frontline responders to environmental incidents. You will support operations by collecting samples, assessing impacts and deploying mitigation measures to reduce harm to watercourses and ecosystems.

You will also install and maintain monitoring equipment for the Dynamic Sewer Visualisation program, ensuring pollution response gear is ready and aligned with wider environmental improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Job description

As an Environmental Pollution Technician, you'll be one of the first responders to pollution and environmental incidents, supporting operational teams to understand the cause and impact of discharges on the environment. You'll collect samples, gather evidence, assess environmental impacts and deploy mitigation measures to help minimise environmental harm and restore affected areas. When you're not attending incidents, you'll support our Dynamic Sewer Visualisation (DSV) programme by installing and maintaining monitoring equipment that helps identify issues before they become environmental problems. You'll also ensure pollution response equipment is maintained, stocked and ready for action, whilst supporting wider environmental improvement initiatives across the business.

Experience within the environmental or water industry would be beneficial but is not essential. We're equally interested in people with the right attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn.

Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (flexible working opportunities available, plus standby rota)
