Job summary

Sibelco Group is seeking an Environmental Planner to support the development and operation of mineral extraction, processing and recycling assets across the UK. You will secure planning permissions and environmental permits, and provide environmental guidance to operations and teams.

The role requires collaboration with regulators, consultants and local authorities to maintain the license to operate and support long‑term mineral resource development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Planning or related field.
• Understanding of Town and Country Planning Act processes and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
• Strong report writing and communication abilities.
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Support planning applications for mineral extraction, processing and waste management developments.
• Prepare, review and submit environmental permit applications and variations.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring programmes (air, water, waste, noise, biodiversity).
• Liaise with regulators and stakeholders including Environment Agency, Natural England and Mineral Planning Authorities.
• Contribute to Local Plans and Minerals & Waste Plans.
• Develop relationships with regulatory bodies, landowners and communities.
