Our growing environmental planning team is seeking a talented environmental planning consultant to work with our team in Edinburgh.

At Stantec, we redefine what is possible. You will contribute to solving key challenges around housing and infrastructure delivery, and work on innovative projects in sectors such as renewable energy (solar, battery storage, wind, hydro, energy networks), transport and active travel, master-planning and regeneration, decarbonisation, and water and wastewater infrastructure. You will also help build the nation's resilience to climate change and promote sustainable development through various projects.

You will have the opportunity to work within different planning regimes across the UK, including national, major, and local applications, helping our clients meet their objectives in a safe, environmentally, and socially sustainable manner.

About you
  • A relevant degree and membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • More than two years of experience in environmental consultancy or a related industry sector.
  • Expertise in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) across various project sectors.
  • Good understanding of the UK planning system (e.g., Town & Country Planning and DCO regimes).
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact.

We foster a friendly and inclusive culture of high support and challenge. Our environment encourages growth both personally and professionally, with genuine career opportunities based on merit. We offer flexibility, adopting a hybrid approach to work, and provide benefits including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, private healthcare, and a flexible benefits package allowing you to select benefits that suit you, including holiday purchase and sale options.
