Job Title: Environmental Permitting Technician (x2 positions)

Location: Durrington (Worthing, West Sussex) or Falmer (Brighton)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37/ week

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000

Job Overview

The job holder will be responsible for ensuring the business has all the necessary environmental permits, consents and licences in place to facilitate the timely delivery of capital schemes, ensure compliance and protect the company's regulatory position (under guidance from senior members of the team).

Main Accountabilities

• Supporting the Environmental Permitting Co-ordinators with sourcing the relevant permits to operate

• Updating the internal permit management system

• Summarising the contents of formal permits for operational staff.

• Supporting the Area Permitting Co-ordinators to prepare appeals against unacceptable permit conditions for submission to the Planning Inspectorate

• Preparing and submitting herbicide dose applications

About You

You will have experience in the environmental sector, either as a Graduate in an Environmental or scientific subject or someone who has experience working in the environmental industry.

You will have:

- Ideally a relevant environmental or science degree and/or relevant experience

- An understanding of environmental legislation, regulation and permitting would be beneficial.

- Highly numerate

- IT Competent, with the ability to learn and use IT systems effectively and confidently

- An understanding of the water industry and the relevant environmental permits that may be required

Package

This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our Durrington or Falmer office and home.

We are offering a salary of up to £33,000 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
