The successful candidate will be based in Quorn, Leicestershire, however, you will have the opportunity to work remotely.

As the successful Environmental Permitting Manageryou will work in a small friendly team within the Land and Natural Resources (L&NR) function supporting the business on a diverse range of projects to obtain permits and licences for land, air and water for our quarries, concrete, asphalt and block plants.

On a day to day basis the Environmental PermittingManager responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical advice on the permits and licences required for new and existing operations in collaboration with the Operational, Strategic Planning and Circularity teams
  • Management and delivery of a wide variety of permits and licences applications
  • Identifying changes to regulations and guidance that require new permits, or impact on our existing permits and advise the business on actions required to become complaint
  • Providing expert advice to the business relating to technical issues relating to permit conditions, or associated environmental legislation
  • Build and manage relationships with the regulators

Ideally the successful candidate for Environmental Permitting Manager will have:

  • Be a self-starter
  • A relevant degree in an environmental or science related field

Practical experience in:

  • Managing permit applications and liaising with the Environment Agency and other regulators
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation including the Environmental Permitting Regulations, guidance, practices and procedures
  • Minerals, waste or water sector
