Established in 2009, my client is a multidisciplinary consultancy working across sectors such as property development, construction, investment and divestment, industrial, manufacturing, engineering, planning, energy, architecture, and hospitality.
They are seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting Consultant to join their team of ten, working with a diverse range of clients on permits including waste, air, land, water, and complex cases like chemical, fuel storage, and energy generation permits.
Your new role
As an Environmental Permitting Consultant, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and obtaining environmental permits from regulatory agencies for various clients.
- Providing guidance and reviewing permit applications to ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Conducting environmental risk assessments for projects and operations.
- Developing mitigation measures and management plans to minimize environmental impacts.
- Liaising with clients, regulators, stakeholders, and other consultants for permit applications, consultations, and inspections.
- Staying updated on environmental permitting regulations, policies, and guidance.
- Engaging in business development with existing and new clients, including cross-selling services.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree or equivalent in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in delivering environmental permitting services across sectors.
- Thorough knowledge of the Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPRs) and relevant legislation.
- Understanding of environmental legislation, planning permissions, and their commercial implications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- A full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
