Job description

We are recruiting operatives to carry out vegetation management on EA sites and for private clients based in Crewkerne.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering site works to company and client expectations.

Overview

  • Follow the Company Management System, including risk assessments, method statements, construction phase plans, etc.
  • Assist with site preparation, including unloading and storing building materials and plant.
  • Store, handle, use, and dispose of materials correctly.
  • Perform physical tasks such as timber shuttering, drainage, chainsaw work, strimming, digging, grass cutting, and other general maintenance and construction labourer duties.
  • Operate heavy machinery where required, in conjunction with CPCS training (diggers, dumpers, compressors).
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, including wearing full PPE at all times.
  • Follow all training and instructions given.
  • Work safely near rivers, watercourses, at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Be aware of wildlife and habitat protection and preservation.
  • Demonstrate good driving skills in company vans, with driving monitored and tracked.
  • Be willing to travel and work away from home as needed.
  • Be available for out-of-hours standby for emergency response situations.

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience working on-site as a labourer.
  • A conscientious and positive attitude to work.
  • Experience working safely in high-risk environments.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take personal responsibility.
  • Ability to act on initiative, especially regarding health & safety, and report relevant matters.
  • Willingness to complete necessary training courses such as water safety, CSCS, confined space, etc.
  • Full/clean driving license.
