Environmental Officer

Alexander Steele is recruiting an Environmental Officer to join a leading food manufacturing business in the West Midlands. You will play a vital role in overseeing the environmental and sustainability performance for site, ensuring full compliance with UK and EU environmental legislation. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop within an environmental role.

  • Onsite Monday – Friday (8:30am-5pm)

  • Full RTW in the UK necessary
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage environmental projects and improvements
  • Conduct environmental assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and develop appropriate action plans.
  • Educate all staff on environment issues and responsibilities
  • Waste management and recycle process and procedures effectively put in place and monitored.
  • Manage and deliver departmental budgets to forecast to help achieve wider business targets.
Background Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience within a dynamic and broad manufacturing environment.
  • Prior knowledge of working with ISO 14001 system or other compliance systems such as ISO 45001 or 50001 but not essential
  • Environmental qualification - IEMA certification desirable but not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
