We're currently looking for a passionate and driven Environmental Monitoring Technician to join our successful and innovative Land Development Team. With one of the largest and most diverse land portfolios in the UK covering over 110,000 acres, this is your chance to work on a truly large scale, across sectors such as residential, commercial, natural capital, and leisure.

You'll be at the heart of unlocking potential in Tarmac's surplus and operational landholdings, helping deliver real value through strategic disposals, development opportunities, and creative land use. From small-scale residential schemes to major mixed-use developments and green energy projects, you'll contribute to work that's shaping the future of places and communities across the country.

What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Actively contributing to improving the sector's safety performance by complying with the company's health and safety requirements.
  2. Carrying out environmental monitoring on the company's sites, including quarries and landfills, in line with company procedures and industry best practice.
  3. Planning and managing your own time and workload on a month-to-month basis.
  4. Inputting collected data into the MP5 monitoring database, ensuring data is inputted correctly and accurately.
  5. Supporting the maintenance of site environmental management plans for closed landfills in line with Environmental Management System requirements.
  6. Supporting regulatory engagement regarding closed landfill sites.
  7. Undertaking other environmental monitoring duties as required.
What We're Looking For:
  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring, data collection practices, procedures, and their application to the business.
  • Knowledge of waste management and quarry operations.
  • Clear and effective communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize work, work independently, meet deadlines, and follow procedures.
  • Good time management skills.
