Overview

Our client is a Mid sized demolition, remediation and enabling works specialist contractor based in Hitchin looking to employ an Environmental Manager to join and lead the team who is experienced with MMPs (material management plans) and understands environmental legislation aspects.

Responsibilities
  • The Environmental Manager will play a vital role in integrating environmental considerations into all aspects of the Group’s operations.
  • Assess and manage environmental risks, develop and implement environmental strategies, and ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to help ensure that projects are environmentally sustainable and contribute to the well-being of communities and ecosystems.
Experience
  • Proven experience in environmental management, preferably in the demolition, construction, or remediation industry.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • IEMA Chartered Member (Desirable).
  • Professional certifications related to environmental management (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional) are desirable but not mandatory.
Technical skills
  • Proficiency in using environmental management software and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, impact assessment methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and requirements.
