Environmental Manager – Pioneering Infrastructure Project

Are you ready to make a measurable difference on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects? We’re recruiting an Environmental Manager to join the construction industry’s recognised leader in environmental performance and innovation.

This is an opportunity to work with a Tier 1 contractor that doesn’t just meet environmental standards - they set them. With sustainability embedded into every phase of project delivery, your role will be crucial in shaping outcomes that go beyond compliance and into lasting, positive environmental impact.

Your Impact

This isn’t a box-ticking role. You’ll be central to creating a culture where environmental responsibility is shared, understood, and delivered across every team and supplier. You'll:

• Ensure full compliance across critical environmental aspects (water, waste, ecology, etc.)
• Champion biodiversity, carbon reduction, and circular economy principles
• Mentor the next generation of environmental professionals
• Drive continual improvement and innovation across the project lifecycle

What You’ll Do

• Lead environmental compliance for one of two major project sections (valued at £450m+)
• Provide expert advice to design, construction, procurement, and supply chain teams
• Support development and implementation of the Environmental Management Plan
• Manage and mentor a team of Environmental Advisors
• Conduct internal and external audits and inspections, including subcontractors and suppliers
• Deliver environmental and sustainability training to project staff
• Drive awareness and delivery of key environmental targets, including carbon reduction and biodiversity gains
• Identify risks and propose forward-thinking solutions to reduce environmental impact
