Are you an experienced Environmental Compliance professional looking for a unique opportunity to shape environmental strategy from the ground up?

We’re working with a leading organisation in the advanced engineering and R&D space to recruit an Environmental Compliance Manager. This is a pivotal role that will initially contribute to the design and construction of a brand-new facility, transitioning into a long-term position within the Facilities Management team once the site is operational.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing environmental strategies, policies, and initiatives to ensure full compliance with regulations and best practices. This includes driving continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System and embedding environmental responsibility across the organisation.

This is a rare opportunity to influence environmental performance from day one—attending project meetings, shaping processes, and ultimately becoming a key figure in the long-term sustainability of the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001.
  • Lead environmental audits, assessments, and inspections.
  • Provide expert guidance to internal stakeholders on environmental matters.
  • Monitor and analyse environmental performance data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver training and awareness campaigns to promote sustainability.
  • Act as the main point of contact for Environment Agency requirements and permitting processes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience as an Environmental Manager in complex high-risk settings.
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental legislation and ISO Standards.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent Environmental certification (DiPEnv preferred).
What’s in it for You?
  • Competitive salary with annual reviews.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Up to 12.5% employer pension contribution.
  • Honorary staff status at the University of Bristol.
  • A collaborative, forward-thinking environment focused on wellbeing, EDI, and professional development.
