Job description

Summary Of Role

Reporting to the Quality Director you will support the implementation of Hall & Kay Fire Services business, quality & EHS strategies. You will carry out regular audits to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

What You Will Be Doing
  1. Through conduct, behaviours and action support the implementation of Hall & Kay Fire Services business, quality & EHS strategies.
  2. Undertake Environmental 14001 Compliance Audits and inspections at company and customer premises.
  3. Own, manage and continuously improve the Company's considerate construction scheme membership.
  4. Support Hall & Kay Fire Services continued compliance to all relevant internal processes / procedures, appropriate schemes and applicable regulatory standards.
  5. Own, manage and continuously improve the Company's ISO14001:2015 Management system.
  6. Support and contribute to the development of an effective audit and inspection programme.
  7. Monitor key changes in environmental legislation and ensure they are imbedded into the organisation in good time.
  8. Support and contribute to maintaining, developing and implementing Hall & Kay Fire Services' standard operating processes and procedures to ensure their continued effectiveness.
  9. Develop and deliver waste training to our service engineers and provide support with waste documentation.
  10. Support the management in the investigation of environmental non-conformities/non-compliance issues, identifying root causes and development of corrective action plans.
  11. Liaise with Third Party Certification Bodies and support Third Party 14001 environmental audits as required.
  12. Act as the Company's waste champion, capturing legislative changes and embedding resources to help improve our companies recycling rate and transparency of waste volumes.
  13. Assist with Investigation, resolution and reporting on significant customer complaints, incidents, near misses.
What We Will Need From You
  1. Qualified in an environmental discipline (e.g. NEBOSH, HND, Degree) with particular focus in waste management (essential)
  2. Experience of working within the construction industry across a multi-site function (desirable)
  3. Experience of working with/supporting The Considerate Construction Scheme (desirable)
  4. Proven record of working with Management Systems: ISO14001:2015 (essential)
  5. Practiced in managing and conducting internal and third-party environmental audits (essential)
  6. Comfortable in communicating with internal and external stakeholders – both written and face-to-face (essential)
  7. Ability to produce accurate and timely submission of written reports.
  8. Applies a positive approach to problem solving (essential).
  9. Able to work autonomously, on own initiative and operate under minimal supervision (essential).
  10. Positively and professional promotes the Company image through behaviours and conduct (essential)
  11. Full, clean driving license (essential)
  12. Able to travel between London and Manchester as required (essential)
What You Can Expect In Return

  7. Hours: 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8.45 – 16.40, Friday 8.45 – 16:00)
