Environmental Management Systems Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small integrated management system (IMS) team. The role involves developing, maintaining, and improving Thames Water’s Environmental Management System (EMS). The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams across the business to ensure that environmental requirements are embedded in operational practices and that the company remains compliant with legal and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Environmental Management System Audits: Lead internal audits of the EMS, including developing the audit programme, conducting audits, and reporting findings.
2. System Maintenance and Improvement: Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the EMS, facilitate annual reviews, and manage action tracking tools.
3. External Certification: Lead external audit processes, liaise with external auditors, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and manage non-conformities.
4. Business Process Support: Review and assist in developing documented business processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to environmental permits.
