Key responsibilities include:
- Environmental Management & Sustainability: Leading sustainability initiatives for large-scale infrastructure projects, integrating sustainability into design and delivery.
- EIA Coordination: Overseeing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring environmental considerations are incorporated into project plans.
- Planning & Consents: Securing environmental permits and consents within the UK planning system.
- Environmental Permitting: Managing permits, ensuring compliance, and liaising with regulatory bodies under Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR).
- Technical Environmental Knowledge: Applying expertise in ecology, air quality, noise, landscape, water, and sustainability disciplines like Carbon, BREEAM, CEEQUAL.
- Carbon Management: Developing and implementing carbon reduction strategies throughout project lifecycles.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Managing relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to align environmental and sustainability goals.
- Project Management: Leading environmental and sustainability workstreams, ensuring scope, budget, and timeline adherence.
- Leadership & Team Management: Mentoring and managing environmental and sustainability professionals.
- Business Development: Winning work streams through pre-positioning and bid development.
- Chartered Membership: Working towards chartership (e.g., CEnv, IEMA).
- Sustainable Construction: Experience with green infrastructure and sustainable construction practices.
- Climate Resilience: Knowledge of climate resilience and adaptation strategies.
- Lifecycle Assessment: Familiarity with sustainability metrics and carbon footprint analysis tools.
- Environmental Law: Understanding of relevant environmental laws and regulations.
- Low-Carbon Technologies: Exposure to renewable energy and low-carbon solutions.
