37 hours per week

Market supplement of £3,000 per annum, currently valid until 1 July 2026, pending review.

A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Health professional to join our busy teams on a permanent basis.

Business Regulation – You will have the ability to deliver elements of the food safety/standards and health and safety team plan. This will include inspections, investigations (communicable disease, complaints, and accident notifications), and enforcement activities when necessary.

Environmental Regulation – You will have the ability to deliver the elements of the environmental protection team plan. This will include investigations into nuisance, fly tipping, pest complaints, administering public health funerals, providing responses to planning and licensing consultations, and assisting in the IPPC inspection programme.

The role of an Environmental Health Technical Officer/EHP is to provide:

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Confidence working with IT applications.
  • An investigative, assertive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work as part of a team supporting colleagues to provide an effective and efficient Environmental Health Service.

You will be expected to work out of hours on a rota basis. Depending on fluctuating demands, working in other aspects of Environmental Health may be necessary, enabling you to broaden your experience and maintain core skills.
