The role:
  • An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial team at Liverpool City Council. We are looking for a competent, confident and highly motivated individual to fill the post of Environmental Health Technical Officer. You will work as part of a team of officers to deliver a range of activities which fulfil the Council's statutory food safety and health and safety functions. This post puts you at the heart of a passionate and dynamic department which is critical in the delivery of the Council's services
  • The role of Environmental Health Technical Officer involves supporting the Commercial team in ensuring commercial businesses within the city are compliant in food hygiene, health and safety, public health and animal welfare and licensing. This will involve visits, advice, enforcement duties and investigations, and to assist in food poisoning cases and outbreaks, respond to complaints, including commercial waste and drainage and to undertake food, water and environmental sampling
  • The ideal candidate for the Environmental Health Technical Officer role will hold a qualification in a relevant field e.g. environmental health / food hygiene / health and safety / public health. They will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, alongside effective team working and time management skills
