Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Type: Permanent

Salary/Pay Rate/Benefits: Negotiable (DOE)

Location: Reading - Hybrid available

Hours of Work: 40 Hours Mon-Fri

Applicants must have experience of the following:

• Relevant engineering degree, HND, BTec Level 5 award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualification
• NEBOSH certificate
• Experience in Defense or Nuclear sectors
• Good understanding of waste management
• Construction site experience
• Ability to obtain SC and DV clearance
• Proven experience leading a team
• Knowledge of ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 or ISO45001 management systems

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop project HSE management plans
• Manage HSE throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure health and safety regulations and procedures are understood and followed
• Participate in pre-operation plans for construction/demolition phases
• Ensure personnel have the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to operate safely
• Liaise with stakeholders on planning, management, monitoring, and coordination of work
• Investigate incidents to determine and remedy causes
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements
• Deliver HSE briefings and training
