We are offering an exciting opportunity to join Cornwall Council as an Environmental Health Officer in a fixed-term role for 18 months. This role involves supporting Primary Authority partnerships and engaging with local businesses to provide regulatory advice and training, particularly in Health & Safety.
The position is part of the Primary Authority and Business Regulatory Support teams within the Environmental Health department, which collaborates closely with Trading Standards and Fire Safety teams. The Primary Authority team manages 61 active partnerships across various sectors, offering support and developing new collaborations. The Business Regulatory Support team provides guidance, resources, and training to local businesses.
Applicants should have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, be registered with EHORB, and meet the competency requirements under the Health & Safety at Work Act. Experience in delivering training and working in a commercial environment is advantageous. The role is suitable for newly qualified or nearly qualified officers eager to develop their skills.
The position is full-time (37 hours/week), primarily Monday to Friday, with some out-of-hours and weekend work. Flexible working arrangements are available, and travel around Cornwall and possibly out of county is required.
