Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Health Officer to join Aberdeenshire Council. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will work in the Food Team.

Responsibilities
  • As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be expected to have general knowledge and experience of food law regulation.

Aberdeenshire is a beautiful rural area and extending from the mountains to the sea. It offers a varied workload across a variety of towns, villages and countryside. Whilst the majority of staff work from home, there are a number of offices available for flexible working and a hybrid approach taken to meetings. Candidates must have the ability to travel within the North East of Scotland at short notice.

Candidate profile

Applications for the EHO post will be considered from Student / Trainee EHO’s who are currently working towards their diploma in environmental health or equivalent and aim to complete their professional training and attain the diploma or equivalent within the next twelve months.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
