Job Description:

Your new company: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena that provides environmental services to the Mid and East Antrim area, including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licensing and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role: This is a temporary contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. It is a part-time role, working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within defined Environmental Health functions.
  • Covering service areas such as Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, and Tobacco Control.

Post holder may need to develop expertise in any listed area to meet service needs.

Requirements:
  • A degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a local government Environmental Health role.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and enforcement capabilities.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to suitable transport.
Benefits:

£38,626 - £41,511 (pro-rata), 29.6 hours/4 days per week, 34 days annual leave (pro-rata).
