Job Description:

Your new company: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services to the Mid and East Antrim area, including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licences and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role: This is a temporary contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. It is a part-time role, working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Carrying out inspections, investigations, assessments within Environmental Health functions.
  2. Covering service areas such as Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, Tobacco Control.

Requirements:

  1. A degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  2. At least 1 year's experience in a local government Environmental Health role, including knowledge of legislation, enforcement, and stakeholder relations.
  3. Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport.

Benefits include:

  • Salary: £38,626 - £41,511, pro-rata for 29.6 hours/week.
  • 34 days annual leave (pro-rata).
