Job Description:

Your new company is a large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services such as Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licences and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role is a temporary contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. This part-time position involves working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within defined Environmental Health functions.
  2. Cover service areas including Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, and Tobacco Control.
  3. Develop expertise in relevant areas as needed to meet service requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a local government Environmental Health role.
  • Knowledge of current Environmental Health legislation and enforcement experience.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with stakeholders, including businesses, statutory agencies, and the public.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to suitable transportation.
Benefits:
  • Salary: £38,626 - £41,511, pro-rata for 29.6 hours/week.
  • 34 days annual leave, pro-rata.
