Job Description:

Your new company: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licensing and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role: This is a temporary part-time contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. The role involves working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within defined Environmental Health functions.
  • The post may cover areas such as Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, Tobacco Control.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a local government Environmental Health role.
  • Knowledge of current Environmental Health legislation, enforcement, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport.

Benefits: Salary between £38,626 and £41,511 pro-rata, 34 days annual leave pro-rata, flexible working options.
