Job Description:

Your new company: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licences and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role: This is a temporary, part-time contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. The role involves working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and responsibilities include conducting inspections, investigations, assessments within various Environmental Health functions such as:

  • Public Health
  • Food Safety
  • Environmental Protection
  • Health and Safety at Work
  • Consumer Protection
  • Wellbeing Initiatives
  • Private Sector Housing
  • Dog Control
  • Licensing
  • Tobacco Control
Requirements:
  • A degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
  • At least 1 year's experience in a local government Environmental Health role
  • Knowledge of current Environmental Health legislation and enforcement experience
  • Ability to build professional relationships with stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport
Benefits:

£38,626 - £41,511 (pro-rata), 34 days annual leave (pro-rata), flexible working options, opportunity to gain council experience.
