Job Description:

Your new company is a large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services to the Mid and East Antrim area. Services include Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licencing and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role is a temporary contract for 9 months. It is part-time, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO, working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, investigations, assessments within Environmental Health functions.
  • Cover areas such as Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, Tobacco Control.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a local government Environmental Health role.
  • Knowledge of current legislation, enforcement, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport.

Benefits:

  • Salary: £38,626 - £41,511 (pro-rata for 29.6 hours/4 days).
  • 34 days annual leave (pro-rata).
