Job Description:

Your new company: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services to the Mid and East Antrim area, including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licences and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role: This is a temporary contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. It is a part-time role, working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Responsibilities include conducting inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within various Environmental Health functions. The role may cover areas such as Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, and Tobacco Control. The post holder may be required to develop expertise in any of these areas to meet service needs.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A degree in Environmental Health
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
  • At least 1 year's experience in a local government Environmental Health role
  • Knowledge of current Environmental Health legislation and enforcement experience
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport
Benefits:

£38,626 - £41,511 (pro-rata for 29.6 hours/4 days per week), including 34 days of annual leave (pro-rata).
