Job Description

Your new company is a large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services to the Mid and East Antrim area. These services include Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licences and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role is a temporary contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. It is a part-time position, working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within defined Environmental Health functions.
  • The service areas may include Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, and Tobacco Control.
Requirements
  • Degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a local government Environmental Health role, including knowledge of legislation, enforcement, stakeholder engagement, and compliance.
  • Full UK driving license and access to suitable transport.
Benefits

Competitive salary of £38,626 - £41,511 (pro-rata), 34 days annual leave (pro-rata), and flexible working options.
