Job Description:

Your new company: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena that provides environmental services to the Mid and East Antrim area, including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licensing and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role: This is a temporary contract position for an initial duration of 9 months. You will be based in Ballymena and report to the Principal EHO. This is a part-time role, working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within defined Environmental Health functions.
  2. The remit may cover areas such as Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, and Tobacco Control.
  3. Provide or develop expertise in any area as required to meet service needs.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a local government Environmental Health role.
  • Knowledge of current Environmental Health legislation, enforcement, and compliance.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with stakeholders, including business owners, statutory agencies, and the public.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport.
Benefits:

£38,626 - £41,511 (pro-rata), 29.6 hours/week, 4 days/week, 34 days annual leave (pro-rata).
