Job Description:

Your new company: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services to the Mid and East Antrim area, including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licences and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role: This is a temporary contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. It is a part-time position, working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within defined Environmental Health functions.
  • The role may cover areas such as Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control Licensing, and Tobacco Control.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a local government Environmental Health role, including knowledge of relevant legislation, enforcement, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport.
