Qualifications

Job Description:

Your new company: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena, providing environmental services to the Mid and East Antrim area, including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licensing and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.

Your new role: This is a temporary contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. It is a part-time role, working 29.6 hours over 4 days per week.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Carrying out inspections, investigations, assessments, or activities within defined Environmental Health functions.
  2. The scope may include areas such as Public Health, Food Safety, Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Consumer Protection, Wellbeing Initiatives, Private Sector Housing, Dog Control, Licensing, and Tobacco Control.

Post holder may be required to develop expertise in various areas to meet service needs.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Environmental Health and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a local government Environmental Health role, including knowledge of legislation, enforcement, stakeholder engagement, and compliance.
  • Full UK driving license and access to suitable transport.
Benefits:

Salary: £38,626 - £41,511, pro rata based on 29.6 hours/4 days per week.

Additional benefits include 34 days of annual leave (pro rata).
