West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking a passionate Environmental Health Officer to make a difference in local communities. This hybrid role involves diverse responsibilities in environmental health, food safety, and community health protection, offering flexible working arrangements and numerous benefits.

What You'll Do
Within Environmental and Community Health Protection, you will cover diverse functions including statutory nuisance investigation, private water supplies, ship sanitation inspections, private sector housing repair, HMO regulation, Private Landlord Registration, noise & vibration, air quality, and contaminated land. You will support other Groups in Environmental Health and maintain professional competence in general.
Within the Food and Business Group, you will regulate food safety and standards, oversee local business health and safety, address nutrition and allergies, respond to communicable disease outbreaks, and handle licensing consultations. The group also provides pest and dog control services.
These roles are delivered on a hybrid working model, offering the opportunity to work from home, in the field, and in the office.
What We're Looking For
An enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer with a drive for improvement. You should be solution-oriented, focused on professional growth, pragmatic, and possess excellent people skills to complement your technical knowledge in Environmental Health.
What You'll Need
To be a qualified Environmental Health Officer holding the REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health or an equivalent qualification.
