Job description

We are looking to appoint a full time Environmental Health Officer within the Environmental Protection and Community Safety Department.

Working under the supervision of a Senior Environmental Health Officer your duties will cover the full range of functions undertaken by the Department including statutory nuisance, noise, anti-social behaviour, odour, drainage, air quality, contaminated land, private water supplies, pest control, environmental permitting, public health, planning and licensing consultations.

You will need to be highly motivated and able to work independently, with the ability to plan and manage you own workload. You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to use the full range of enforcement tools available to the Department to enable the early and effective resolution of complaints.

The successful applicant must have a degree in Environmental Health with experience in the field of Environmental Protection, however newly qualified applicants who possess a strong enthusiasm to learn and grow in the workplace are encouraged to apply.
