Job description

A client within the Public Sector based in Nottinghamshire is currently recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer to join their Environmental Health team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within an Environmental Protection environment.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking inspections of premises, business operations, construction sites and permitted processes.
  • Writing IPPC reports and risk rating premises.
  • Reviewing permit applications and processing variations.
  • Supporting technical officers with statutory nuisance investigations.
  • Carrying out enforcement action where required.
  • Providing professional advice in relation to environmental protection and pollution control.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience in environmental protection/pollution control and statutory nuisance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable skills
  • Knowledge and experience in contaminated land.
  • Knowledge and experience in planning consultations with ability to deliver high quality responses.
  • Knowledge of Local Authority air pollution control legislation, standards and guidance.
  • Knowledge of statutory nuisance legislation and investigation processes.
  • Understanding of noise monitoring equipment, protocols and standards.
Salary and duration

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £32 per hour PAYE).
