Job description

Environmental Health Officer

Full Time – 37 hours per week.

Grade 8 salary range 32-26 (£41,511 - £45,718)

Location – Council Offices, Kiln Road, Benfleet.

We are looking for a full-time Environmental Health Officer to undertake a general duties role within a small, friendly, multidisciplinary service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to develop their skills across a variety of Environmental Health disciplines, to compliment an existing specialism or to enhance future job opportunities.

The Service covers the full range of Environmental Health activities, including Public Health & Statutory Nuisance, Pollution Control, Food Safety, Health and Safety, Animal Welfare, Infectious diseases, Private Sector Housing and the provision of Housing Grants.

This is a hybrid working opportunity with the expectation of flexibility to support business needs.

Experience

You should have previous experience working within an Environmental Health department, be it during training or post qualification, however we may also consider candidates with Environmental Health degrees who are currently working towards completing their EHP Portfolio.

Those currently working in, or have previous experience of, any specialist areas of Environmental Health are encouraged to apply, as you will have the opportunity to further develop your specialist area skills, knowledge, and experience within a wider role.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a CIEH accredited Degree / Diploma in Environmental Health and be registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board or be a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner (or higher grade.) We may also consider applicants currently working towards completing their EHP Portfolio.
