A local government authority in Bacup is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Manager to lead their Environmental Health team. Responsibilities include managing inspections of food premises and overseeing investigations into health and safety issues. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Environmental Health and significant experience at a lead officer level. Overview

Were looking for an experienced Environmental Health Manager to lead our Environmental Health team and act as Lead Officer for food law and workplace health & safety enforcement.

In This Senior Role, Youll Manage the Environmental Health team, including Senior Officers and apprentices. Lead on food law and workplace health & safety interventions. Inspect high-risk and approved food premises. Oversee investigations into food safety, infectious diseases, accidents and complaints. Represent the Council in enforcement action, prosecutions and at committee/court when required.

What Were Looking For
  • Degree in Environmental Health with EHRB/CIEH registration
  • Proven competence in food safety and health & safety (Lead Officer level)
  • Experience inspecting high-risk and approved food premises
  • Strong enforcement and investigation experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication and report-writing skills
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
