Job description

To be responsible to a Team Leader for managing staff and leading on projects/specialisms within the Commercial, Residential/Housing, and Pollution/Waste Management areas of work. This includes carrying out the full range of functions undertaken within the team.

Specifically:

1. Take a lead in one or more projects/specialisms, provide advice on and develop policies and procedures, and monitor performance related to those projects/specialisms for team members and the service area.
2. Coordinate the work of staff, allocate tasks, determine priorities, and ensure standards of performance comply with relevant legislation and council policy.
3. Assist the Team Leader in preparing budget estimates.
4. Contribute to or prepare reports and attend meetings of committees, working parties, etc.
5. Recommend and contribute to policy formulation affecting the team’s work.
6. Provide professional advice and address matters raised by members of the public.
