Our client has an opportunity for an EHS Manager to join them on a contract basis until July 2026, with the possibility of extension.
As an EHS Manager, you will support and enable the business to create an inclusive, value-driven, and engaging working environment with the highest safety standards.
Role Details:
- Position: EHS Manager
- Location: Broughton, Flintshire. Onsite
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Hourly Rate: Up to 40 via Umbrella, inside IR35. Depending on experience
- Clearance: BPSS required before starting
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the local FMRE team to ensure appropriate risk controls are in place for their activities and those of service providers.
- Ensure compliance with requirements related to new plant and work equipment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Review safety management systems of prospective FMRE contractors through pre-qualification.
- Conduct EHS inspections on internal operations and activities by service providers, and support record-keeping and action plans.
- Provide environment, health, and safety advice for strategic projects, including feasibility and design reviews.
- Implement processes and conduct compliance audits to ensure adherence to legal requirements such as CDM Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act.
- Ensure incidents are reported, investigated, and remedial actions are taken.
- Possess good knowledge of EHS requirements in Facilities Management, construction, and maintenance, and advise operational management.
- Promote EHS topics organization-wide through safety reviews, KPIs, training, campaigns, and inductions.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Experience in reporting and working with stakeholders on safety projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with risk assessment and auditing techniques.
- Relevant experience in Facilities Management, including construction and maintenance.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with a positive attitude.
- Understanding of health and safety standards.
- Proactive professional development, membership of IOSH preferred.
- Experience liaising with stakeholders and building rapport.
- CDM experience is essential.
