This is an onsite role in Santa Ana, CA, requiring all 5 days in the office each week.

The EHS/Facility engineer will be responsible for maintaining the Santa Ana and Pineville facility’s (shop floor, office spaces, security, utilities, etc…). The EHS/Facility engineer will develop, implement and maintain programs and procedures necessary to ensure the overall environment, health, and safety performance of the unit per corporate guidelines.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

EHS functions:

  1. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety policies and rules.
  2. Minimize workplace injury and illness through development, implementation, and maintenance of effective health, ergonomics, and safety programs.
  3. Serve as liaison for the local emergency response team.
  4. Act as the point of contact and owner for CMP, BIA, and BC on behalf of CEX.
  5. Promote continuous improvement of existing health and safety programs, procedures, and tools to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  6. Have knowledge of local/city/state standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to facilities operations and maintenance.
  7. Analyze EHS performance metrics, prepare reports, and make recommendations.
  8. Ensure compliance with all local and corporate (CommScope) EHS rules and regulations through audits, reporting, training, and corrective actions.
  9. Manage hazardous waste, including collection, labeling, storage, and disposal.
  10. Provide project management leadership for EHS compliance projects.

Facilities functions:

  1. Assist, supervise, and coordinate the repair of electrical and mechanical systems to ensure safety.
  2. Schedule contracted vendors for preventive maintenance services.
  3. Analyze costs of services required for repairs and maintenance.
  4. Create, implement, and execute maintenance plans for facility equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous EHS/Facilities engineer experience.
  • Understanding of manufacturing best practices.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements from agencies like OSHA, EPA, and ISO.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CSP certification.
  • Strong EHS affinity as an engineer.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Structured, pragmatic, and hands-on worker.

Open issues remaining from the previous EHS engineer's departure include:

  • Multiple open injury claims.
  • Delays in safety walks and violation resolutions.
  • Open facility repairs.
  • Overdue incident handling procedures.
  • Review and reduction of incident rates.
  • Overdue CMP/BIA/BC and corporate audits.
  • Incomplete IIPP and AWS audit requirements.

The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and participation in the Incentive Plan. Starting candidates are eligible for paid holidays, vacation, and other leave options.

The expected total compensation range is $84,000 to $106,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
