Environmental, Health and Safety Associate

Location: Stafford

Contract: 12 months (with strong potential for extension)

Start Date: 1st August 2025

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 07:15-16:30 (37 hours/week, Fridays off)

Pay Rate: Up to £30 per hour

About the Role

Are you a passionate Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional looking for a dynamic, hands-on role where no two days are the same?

You'll play a key role in supporting our evolving safety strategy and contribute to a range of projects, including occupational health, environmental compliance, and external community safety programmes. This is a fully onsite position, ideal for someone looking to make a tangible impact in a global manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and help deliver companies safety strategy, focusing on high-energy risks.
  • Conduct EHS inspections, audits (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001), and training delivery.
  • Participate in incident investigations and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain EHS records, develop policies, and assist with occupational health initiatives.
  • Support and maintain site training records, help create training content, and facilitate internal/external learning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE, COSHH, PUWER, LOTO, working at height, contractor management, and other high-risk activity controls.
  • Contribute to sustainability, waste management, and legal compliance documentation

Candidate Requirements

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a similar EHS role (preferably in manufacturing).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) - essential.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS policy compliance and UK health & safety legislation.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (eg, data analysis, pivot tables, graphs).

Experience:

  • Familiarity with Human Organisation Performance (HOP) principles.
  • Prior involvement in process improvement and safety strategy implementation.
