Job description

Job Title: Environmental Field Specialist

The Environmental Field Specialist will leverage environmental SWPPP and SPCCC regulatory knowledge with civil/site development experience to ensure environmental compliance on an assigned construction site. This is a field-based position on a job site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee solar site land development activities from design plan preparation through project closeout to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Evaluate land development plans during design and construction for environmental impacts.
  • Coordinate with site management and subcontractors to ensure compliance with permit documentation and project requirements.
  • Inspect subcontractors' work progress and address concerns promptly with site management.
  • Support the resolution of civil/site development construction-related environmental compliance issues.
  • Assist the site management team with all land development activities.
  • Lead and support all environmental compliance needs on site.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of land development experience or SWPPP and SPCCC inspections.
  • Knowledge of current environmental laws and regulations, especially CWA/NPDES standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans.
  • Comfortable presenting to and interacting with consultants and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Primarily outdoor work on construction sites in various weather conditions.
