Job Description:

MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.

This role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services, with a focus on improving compliance, cost-efficiency, and environmental impact.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
• Manage service contracts including water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
• Develop and maintain environmental databases for reporting; investigate and address environmental incidents.
• Lead internal environmental audits and support external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
• Drive initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and overall environmental footprint.
• Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing efficient equipment and services.
• Prepare technical specifications, review tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals to leadership.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies for audits, permits, and funding opportunities.
• Identify and implement cost-saving projects.
• Conduct risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks, such as ISO 14001 and PPC.
