Job Title: Environmental Engineer, Journeyman

Job Description:

Environmental Engineering support to prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports, collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, and experts in law and business to address environmental problems.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures and monitor progress of environmental improvement programs
  • Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability
  • Inspect industrial and municipal facilities and programs in order to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Provide administrative support for projects by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general administrative duties
  • Develop proposed project objectives and targets, and report to management on progress in attaining them
  • Advise corporations and government agencies of procedures to follow in cleaning up contaminated sites in order to protect people and the environment and environmental policies and standards and assist in budget implementation, forecasts, and administration
  • Inform company employees and other interested parties of environmental issues

Required skill may also include but not be limited to:

  • Technical and analytic experience with environmental aspects of fielding government systems; Air Force acquisition processes, standards, and guidance
  • Experience with homeland defense ground surveillance capabilities highly desirable as is experience with radar systems
  • The ability to serve on teams conducting multimedia inspections at complex facilities
  • Provide assistance with planning, quality assurance, safety inspection protocols, and sampling

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field and at least three years of experience in
the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, three of which must be
in the DoD
OR, seven years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in
the PWS labor category performance requirements, five of which must be in the DoW.
