An environmental services provider in Hartlepool is hiring for a role focused on compliance and environmental decision-making. The successful candidate will monitor air quality and conduct site audits. Candidates should have a degree in a STEM subject and be knowledgeable about UK environmental regulations. This position supports long-term sustainability and improvement efforts.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be our go-to person on the ground for all things environmental – supporting the site teams to stay compliant, reduce risk, and make smarter environmental decisions.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll:
Help us meet our legal obligations and site permits
Monitor and report on key areas like air quality, emissions, water and waste
Carry out site audits and follow up on actions
Work closely with the Environment Agency and internal departments
Contribute to risk assessments and support incident investigations
Get involved in projects that drive long-term environmental improvements
You’ll be part of a small, site-based team – but you’ll work with everyone, from engineers and operators to managers and contractors.
What You’ll Need
We’re looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and get involved – someone who’s confident in what they know but open to learning more.
Here’s what will help you succeed:
A degree in a STEM subject
Good knowledge of environmental regulations in the UK
A practical, well-organised approach to your work
Confidence to work independently and speak up when it matters
Strong communication skills and the ability to get on with people at all levels
It would be great if you’ve got experience with ISO 14001, Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR), or if you’ve worked with the Environment Agency before – but we’re happy to support the right person to build this knowledge.
Sustainability is at the very heart of what we do and we are dedicated to managing our operations responsibly and to continuously improving our performance. Innovating for tomorrow, making a positive impact today.
