VertaseFLI is one of the UK's largest and most respected technically qualified remediation contractors. We don't just clean up the past—we engineer the future. From cutting-edge remediation technologies to major earthworks and civil engineering, we thrive on complexity and deliver excellence across the UK.

We're on the lookout for an Environmental Engineer—a driven, hands-on professional ready to get stuck in from day one. If you're passionate about solving environmental challenges and want to develop a truly dynamic career, this is where your impact begins.

You will be provided with a company van and be out on site for the majority of the week, this includes staying away from home.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver a wide range of remediation solutions—no outsourcing, no hand-offs, full responsibility.
  • Support site investigations (Phases 1 & 2), from trial pits to technical reports.
  • Monitor, sample, assess—get into the science of environmental data to help shape cleaner outcomes.
  • Work closely with project and tender managers to design and price complex remediation tenders.
  • Interact with clients, regulators, laboratories, and on-site teams across multiple projects.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality work.
  • Occasionally take the reins as Site or Project Manager—you'll grow, fast.
Qualifications
  • A relevant Environmental or Earth Science degree (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience, either site-based environmental or remediation work.
  • Familiarity with sampling techniques, environmental monitoring, and GIS tools.
  • A full UK driving licence and relevant CSCS card.
  • Big bonus if you've worked directly on remediation schemes or site investigation data interpretation.
Benefits
  • A career that can move into project management, technical leadership or commercial strategy.
  • A culture of innovation, collaboration, and getting your boots muddy (metaphorically and sometimes literally).
  • Exposure to high-profile, high-impact projects nationwide.

At VertaseFLI, you're not just an engineer. You're a problem-solver, a collaborator, and a future environmental leader.
