Grade G Scp 23 £33,366 to Scp 27 £37,035 plus Car User Allowance

Contract: Permanent

Essential Requirements: Current valid driving licence

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Enforcement Officer to join our busy Environmental, Education and Enforcement Department in Bolton. You will be responsible for investigating environmental crimes such as fly-tipping, littering, and dog fouling, dealing robustly with offenders by way of fixed penalty notices and/or court proceedings. You will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of environmental legislation and have the ability to prepare and submit cases for court.

About You:

You should possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work both in a group and on your own initiative. You should have a strong enforcement background and a desire to improve the environmental quality of Bolton, making a difference to residents’ lives. You must be able to cope with a demanding workload and, where necessary, have a flexible approach to working out of hours should the need arise. You will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of environmental legislation and be capable of investigating complaints, taking legal action where appropriate.
