Job summary

ALS Laboratories (UK) Ltd in Hawarden seeks a Senior Analyst to support vital monitoring of the River Dee. The role features a three-days-on, six-days-off pattern and 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. shifts, 18.7 hours per week, part-time, permanent.

You will perform analytical testing on river samples, respond to incidents, and participate in an on-call rota for 24/7 service. GC-MS/HPLC experience is desirable; teamwork and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for environmental protection and water quality.
• Strong teamwork and communication.
• Experience with GC-MS and HPLC is desirable.
• Audits and regulatory requirements experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing on river samples using manual and automated techniques.
• Respond to environmental incidents by analysing pollution-related samples.
• Participate in on-call rota to provide 24/7 service across the year.
• Help identify opportunities to support and grow the service offering.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure data integrity.
