CPR is seeking an experienced Environmental Crime Enforcement Officer for West London. The role focuses on investigating fly-tipping, waste offences, and environmental nuisance within a local authority framework.

You will gather evidence, prepare witness statements and issue Fixed Penalty Notices where appropriate, while engaging with residents and elected members to drive enforcement action.

Qualifications

• Proven environmental crime enforcement experience in a local authority.
• Strong knowledge of Environmental Protection Act 1990, Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and related powers.
• Experience in investigations, evidence gathering and issuing penalties (Fixed Penalty Notices).
• Excellent communication and case-management skills with residents and elected members.

Environmental Crime Officer - West London - Rate: £36.00 per hour (Umbrella)

A West London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Environmental Crime Enforcement Officer to investigate and tackle environmental crime, waste offences, fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles and wider anti-social behaviour issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate fly-tipping, waste and duty of care offences, commercial waste compliance and environmental nuisance complaints.
• Enforce legislation relating to abandoned vehicles, infestations, public health and highway-related issues.
• Gather evidence, prepare witness statements and issue Fixed Penalty Notices where appropriate.
• Respond to resident and elected member enquiries, managing complaints and ensuring appropriate enforcement action is taken.
• Investigate multiple complaints and work to resolve environmental crime and ASB issues effectively.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in environmental crime enforcement within a local authority.
• Strong practical knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and other relevant legislation and enforcement powers.
• Demonstrable experience in investigations, evidence gathering, issuing Fixed Penalty Notices and managing complaints.
• Excellent communication and case management skills, with the ability to deal confidently with residents and elected members
