Overview

Environment Contracts & Campaigns Manager role at Thames Water (permanent). Support the delivery of improved Environmental Performance across our Wastewater Networks through Targeted Catchment Investigations and customer campaigns. Location: covering the whole Thames Water Region. Working Hours: 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of the Targeted Catchment Investigations (TCI) activities to reduce pollutions, sewer floodings and blockages in Thames Water's wastewater network. The activity has progressed from a trial and is being scaled up across the business.
  • Onboard suppliers and roll out TCI across Thames Water.
  • Contractor management: day-to-day management and performance of suppliers delivering field elements of the workstreams.
  • Health & Safety management of field teams carrying out the TCI process, ensuring work complies with Thames Water procedures.
  • Delivery and control of intervention work: deliver work to fix issues through own contractors and by directing work elsewhere in Thames Water.
  • Budget and financial performance management of the teams.
  • Management and development of staff within the teams.
  • Proactively engage and influence stakeholders internally and externally; develop sustainable relationships with the business and regulators.
  • Develop and implement educational programs to inform customers about sewer abuse; organize and participate in public outreach events (workshops, conferences, community meetings).
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (local authorities, community groups, regulatory bodies); liaise with front-line operational teams as well as marketing and communications, legal, environmental compliance, commercial, procurement and regulation teams.
  • Assist in development and review of policies related to sewer abuse; provide input based on field observations and stakeholder feedback.
Essential criteria
  • A passion to improve environmental performance.
  • Water industry experience and/or experience in a similar role focusing on education and enforcement.
  • Experience in driving performance through direct and indirect teams.
  • Understanding of waste network operations.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organisation to achieve improved outcomes.
  • Full driving licence (travel required).
