Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Environmental Consultant to join their team in the water sector in the United Kingdom. You will work independently and with project teams to provide environmental input into designs and site support activities.

You will analyse data and prepare technical reports, ensuring environmental compliance and coordinating with clients. This role emphasizes collaboration with senior staff and maintaining ISO 14000 documentation across the UK and Ireland offices.

Qualifications

  • Degree in environmental disciplines.
  • Experience in environmental roles, preferably consultancy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for technical reports.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with other technical specialists.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of EU/UK environmental legislation and best practices.

Our client, a leading independent consulting and engineering services group, is currently seeking an Environmental Consultant to join their team in the water sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work independently and within project teams to provide environmental input into designs and site support activities
  • Analyse and interpret data followed by technical report writing
  • Ensure environmental compliance in line with client's standards, requirements, and policies
  • Interface with clients for environmental coordination, resolving queries and issues

Job Requirements:
  • Degree Qualified in any of the environmental disciplines
  • Previous experience of working in an environmental role, ideally in a consultancy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to write technical reports
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with other technical specialists
  • Decision-making ability to gather and synthesize information, identify options, and apply judgment based on logic and reason
  • Problem-solving capability to identify complex problems, review and analyse information, and evaluate options to implement solutions
  • Knowledge of EU and UK environmental legislation and current best practice guidance
